Unit 10 Post

Hi class,
It's funny how once you really dive into something, you learn so much more about it. For example, you might feel like you are really in shape until you witness someone run a marathon, or you might feel as though you are in touch with god, until you start attending church on a full time basis and realize that you have barely began to have a relationship with him. Well, with that said, in the beginning of this class I thought I was clearly on my way, if not there already, to have integral health. It wasn't until I learned much more about it, that I realized that I had a ways to go.
I gave myself a score of 6 for physical, 8 for spiritual, and 8 for psychological in week 3. I actually score lower than that now. Even though, I feel like I have grown leaps and bounds, I just didn't realize the deep that my innerself was really capable of.
My goals consists of; getting my Lupus under control, which I have already made great improvements in just one week, practicing my meditations on a daily basis, and continuing to have a subtle mind. The last couple of days I have followed through with my promise to write down my affirmations daily on what I expect from myself spiritually. WOW, it really has helped. There is something about an old fashion paper and pencil, as opposed to a computer. I even go upstairs and find the paper I wrote them down on in order to remind myself. I feel good about myself in that I am already implementing these changes.
I have made profound discoveries during this course. Many times, after certain classes, a light bulb goes off and I think to myself, "this information is so valuable to the quality of my life" This class is most certainly the grand champion of them all. :)

  1. HURRAY!!!! Your first paragraph sums up everything. I imagine all our classmates will read it and think to themselves that they can relate. Not only have I realized that there was so much more to reach for, beyond where I was at, in my health- but that I was looking at health only from two perspectives- mental and physical...especially physical. NOW I understand with the addition of working on my spiritual health it improves the other two areas. For instance: If I finally get a day where I get to run without pushing the stroller, it starts out sunny and beautifull then in the middle of the run it turns into a nasty thunderstorm...(Now as a result from taking this class), I shake my head, look up to the sky and say "very funny", giggle a bit to my self (because really- that is pretty funny) then finish my run enjoying the rain splash against my face.
We learned not to take life so seriously. That we are not here for ourselves, but here for everything and everyone else.
It's great that your figuring everything out. I agree with the paper and pencil remark. I would take those and a book over a computer any day :)

  2. Hi Jenny,
Don't feel bad. The numbers might go up and down but I think the most important is we are aware of what we're doing. I do the same thing.I thought I am moving forward and something happens so I have to re-route everything. Our daily schedules are very unpredictable, so I guess we will experience the ups and downs. The main thing is that our outlook had improved. Others would be upset if they had your experience, instead you just laugh at it and even enjoyed the rain. :).
Good luck Jenny and take care :)

  4. Jenny,
I am so glad you have grown and learned about yourself. I see what you are saying about scoring less but still moving forward. We have learned so much that we may just want to improve ourselves more now. I wish you good health and a wonderful journey with your family. It has been wonderful getting to know you. Best of luck in your meditation!!!

  5. Horray, just like Aly said your first paragraphs says it all, and I most definitely can relate. I have been taking psychology classes since the beginning, but I have learned more about myself in this clas than I did in all yhe psychology classes put together. I decided to stop smoking in this class and implemented a plan of action that I am currently using, that makes me say WOW. This was my best class in two years of school, another WOW. Guys please keep Blogging with me!!!!
